Sensitive Social Research

Explain has developed special skills in the field of sensitive research through our many years of work in the health and emergency service sectors, such as ‘blue light’. We have managed projects such as a ‘good death’ dealing with those near the end of life and their carers; interviewed teenagers about issues such as pregnancy, sexual health and Chlamydia; interviewed young children with parental permission about fire setting; interviewed those who smoke, drink or eat too much and nurses and clinicians about better health engagement.

The starting point in all these projects is the quality of staff we employ and their training so that we can provide the skills so essential to facilitating the feedback sessions. The analysis of these interviews can then provide the insight into how social marketing can best target individuals to help change their behaviour.
