Each member of the team is committed to the values associated with the Explain brand. We carry out a rigorous recruitment, induction and training policy; selecting people not only on the abilities and skills they bring to the team but the contribution they can make to the world outside our door too.

We are proud to have not only won the Service Network’s Culture for Success award in 2008, but also to go onto to be highly commended in the small business category in 2010. The judge’s summary stated the award was made in recognition of "outstanding achievement in developing the business through four key areas".

Corporate Social Responsibility

We do not see corporate social responsibility as something only “big companies do” and we place great emphasis on providing rewarding careers, the opportunity for personal development and interaction with other organisations and charities in our region.

Explain is a corporate Silver sponsor of The Sage Gateshead, the world class music venue as well as the Theatre Royal and donates a proportion of profits to charitable concerns such as Charlotte Straker , a care home in the Tyne Valley where our managing director is a Trustee.
