Inspiring the next generation of Market Researchers

Explain Market Research has a proven track record of recruiting up and coming market researchers through its graduate recruitment programme. Having recruited two placement students and two new graduates this year alone into its North East head office team, Explain continues to illustrate its commitment to growth through the recruitment of excellent people.

Explain has forged strong links with regional universities, engaging with Newcastle, Sunderland, Northumbria and Durham universities to support the development of students. The graduate recruitment programme at Explain is underpinned by the work the team at Explain do each year to engage with students.

It is embedded in the business culture to inspire the next generation of market researchers. They do this by providing guest lectures, seminars and attending career fairs to educate on what market research is, demonstrating the clients they work for and what graduates should expect from choosing a career in market research.

Most recently Research Manager, Sam Riley and Research Executive, Kathryn Allen were both asked to be guest lecturers at Newcastle University and Sunderland University, presenting to marketing students.

Kathryn tells us, “Having worked in research for five years, I believe it’s important to share our experience of market research as a career choice. Providing examples of the work we undertake and the actionable insights we deliver for clients, enables students to understand the role of a market researcher.”
